In the beginning was the Word,
and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was with God in the beginning.
Through him all things were made;
without him nothing was made
that has been made.
In Him was life, and that life
was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness,
but the darkness has not understood it.
John 1:1-5
Who is Jesus…
He is:
The Son of God
The Word of God
God—made visible to man
Creator
Life
Light
Jesus is not a created being but rather “In the beginning” already with God.
He is:
The Almighty—nothing is impossible for Him (Revelation 1:8)
The Author and Finisher of our faith—fix your eyes on Him (Hebrews 12:2)
The Bread of Life—depend on Him for daily sustenance (John 6:32-35)
The Bright Morning Star—in His light, we cannot lose our way (Revelation 22:16)
The Door—He is the only way to heaven (John 10:9)
Emmanuel—God with us (Matthew 1:23)
Our Hope—He is our only source of hope in this world (1 Timothy 1:1)
He is the Lamb of God, the King of Kings, the Light of the World, the Lord of Lords, Messiah.
His Name is Jesus, the Greek form of Yeshua (Joshua) and His Name means Jehovah is salvation.
HE IS OUR HOPE!
Hope: living in expectation of what God is going to bring about in my life and the lives of those for whom I pray, through His Son Jesus Christ, Messiah, Lord.
If you belong to God through salvation found in Christ alone, you are forgiven, rescued, redeemed, chosen, accepted, saved, loved, alive and free. Hope should be a natural outcome of knowing who Jesus is and who you are in Him.
If your heart is broken today, if you are consumed by depression, if you are filled with unforgiveness or anger, if… (fill in your heartache) whisper Jesus. He is alive, and He loves you!
Hope for Daily Living
Because of Jesus, I am eternally secure. Read Romans 8:1-17 How does knowing you have eternal security through Jesus Christ, change the way you view life’s heartaches and struggles? Or does it?
Write your personal testimony of your salvation experience. If you cannot, please see the salvation Scriptures in the back of this book.
Heavenly Father,
Today I am grateful for the gift of Your Son Jesus, through whom I have eternal security. My hope is found in Christ alone. Through Him I am sealed, secure, and victorious. I cannot be beaten or stopped. Even in death, I win! Praise His Name. Amen and Amen
