Personal Testimony included in Words of Hope.
As I wrote "Words of Hope," it occurred to me that there are those who live with depression and often feel hopeless. Others face specific situations when they hope for the best outcome. There are many different occasions that cause one to lose hope or hold onto hope. So, I asked a few ladies if they would be kind enough to allow me to include their personal testimony in the book. Several said yes. This is one of those testimonies in Angie's own words...not mine. I pray someone is blessed and encouraged as you read.
"Hope When Depression Hurts
My heart is troubled. Sometimes I wish I didn’t have such giant feelings. I know it makes me who I am, and God made me that way, but I still don’t like it; at times feeling like I let someone down, and that’s a horrible feeling.
You have no idea how much the prayers of friends help. And if you are struggling too, know I’m lifting you up. As many of you know, it’s a battle. And sometimes I think as a Christian it’s harder because we know God’s promises to never leave us or forsake us are so true. It’s not that we don’t want to be happy or feel joy. It’s a physical thing that overtakes your mind.
I hate depression! It robs you of so much. I try hard not to let it, but some days are just harder than others. I hope by sharing my struggle today it has helped someone in some way. Please whisper a prayer for me and anyone else you know who suffers from depression.
