What Will I Do With Jesus?

Jesus answered, “I Am the Way and the Truth

and the Life. No one comes to the Father

except through me.”

                                     John 14:6 NIV 

     Allah, Hari, Buddha, Mazda, Shang Di are the Gods of Islam, Sikh, Buddhist, Parsee and Confucianism Religions. Taoism, Shinto, Jainism have numerous deities.  The Parsee Religion worships Ormazd, sometimes called Mazda.  Africans, Mayans, Greeks and Romans had Gods such as Isis, Horus, Thor, Zeus, and Mercury. The American Indians had their deities. There were Scandinavian Gods, Norse Gods, Celtic Gods and Druid Gods—Gods of man and Gods of nature. Wherever mankind has had a presence on the earth, gods and religions have appeared.

     Many people believe that all roads or all gods lead to heaven—as long as you believe in a god, some god, any god you will be safe from eternal punishment. In the religions listed as “Christian” there are Catholics, Baptists, Methodists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, Protestants, Pentecostals, Charismatics, Episcopalians, Church of Christ, Church of God, Seventh-Day Adventist and on and on.

     It is easy to understand how some who search for the truth about God can become confused. But in the midst of all the religious chaos there is only One God who emerges as true. To the Jews He is Jehovah, YHWH, Hashem—The Name.  To the Christian He is Father, Jehovah, I AM. He is the God of the Bible—One God called by many names. He is GOD!

     Unlike the deities of false religion, Jehovah God is alive. He was not birthed from someone’s imagination. He was not carved from stone or covered in silver and set on a mantel to worship. He is the Ancient of Days and Creator of all that is! Rather than bring sacrifices of food and drink or gold and silver to atone for our sin and remain in right standing with God, we bring our life and lay it down at the feet of Jesus, God’s One and Only Son.

     The Bible tells us that the “wages of sin is death” BUT “the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23) Because our sin separates us from a holy God and out of His great love, God offers you the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ His Son. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

     It is difficult to understand why a Holy God would send His One and Only sinless Son to exchange His life for sinners through the ages, which is exactly what God did. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

     He loves us! He loves you. He loves me. And because of His great love, in mercy and grace He sent His Son to die for your sin and mine. Through Jesus God made a way for common man to have access to a Holy God.

     So do not be deceived by the gods of this world or by those who would tell you there are many paths that lead to God. Do not be deceived by those who would tell you that as long as you worship some god you will arrive in heaven when you die. Do not be deceived by those who tell you that because God is love He will not allow anyone to perish for eternity.

     But believe these words spoken by Jesus who gave His life for yours and mine so that we can spend eternity worshipping the One True God in heaven; “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)

     Then ask yourself this question. What will I do with Jesus?
